I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to state, for the information of the Secretary
of State for the Colonies, that They have had under further consideration the question of the provision of a combined Naval, Military and Air Force Hospital at Hong
Kong.
2. The present site of the . N. Hospital there has already become unsui table, and the early removal of the
hospital to a better site is inevitable. The present time is therefore opportune, in the opinion of My Lords, to explore the question of amalgamation.
They
accordingly suggest that a conference, at which the three Service Departments and the Colonial Office would be
represented, should be held at an early date to consider
this matter. They propose that the conference should
take the form of a meeting of the Joint Medical Services Committee, re-inforced by specially co-opted Departmental representatives who would assist the Committee in regard to general departmental and financial policy.
The Under Secretary of State,
COLONIAL OFFICE.
